McKays and Sutherlands of Dornoch
« on: Thursday 08 January 09 17:03 GMT (UK) »
I'd be most grateful if anyone can suggest what might have happened to Isabella McKay, born about 1803 Dornoch, Sutherland.

On the 1851 census she was living with her widowed brother-in--law, John Cameron, at 30 Dunmore Street, Balfron.  He died at some point between the census and 1855.

John Cameron's first wife was a Janet McKay, and the above details suggest she was the one christened 20 April 1786, Dornoch, while Isabella was christened 3 Jan 1799, parents John McKay and Isobel Sutherland.

I'd be most interested if anyone has any further details on this family.
