I have a photo of a relative's grave Lair 11 East Side.
I have read that a map of old Dalbeth was posted, using lair numbers to try and establish locations but the map is not there anymore.
Does anyone have a copy?
The stone was erected in 1863 by A Raab in memory of his 2 wives, Anna Puelicher and Mary Ann Annacker.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi penstemon5

I have a photo of a relative's grave Lair 11 East Side.

Could you mean Section 11 rather that Lair 11? I have to say I have never seen a map of these cemeteries defined by the lair numbers. But there are some that clearly show the Sections.

RootsChat have a number of threads on Old Dalbeth and St Peter's Cemeteries. This one here is particularly good on maps and arial shots with additional notes www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=495487.0

Another map included here www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=678193.0

Lair 11, which you have confirmed, is what it is. From a RC Burial database, the lair is to be found in
Section 2 it seems.

Gerry Farrell said on one of those threads:
Regards the lair plan sadly none exists with either the Arch Diocese or the catholic archives in Edinburgh. However I have spoken with the Edinburgh Archives and I am working with them to try and see if we can plan out a lair layout using the existing stones and the lair registers, once we complete this it will be made available.
July 2009
This is what I was enquiring about. Was the plan ever produced?
If it has been posted, is that where I will find section 2?
Sorry to ask so much, I don’t know anything about the cemetery, I just found this thread, which is amazing

Monica, I have just Googled RC burial database for Dalbeth Cemetery and have found the map with "2" written in red.....Thank you!
Does this mean that the grave is in the new St Peter's cemetery?

Well done!

You could contact directly the lady that has been mentioned in the other posts, Sharon, to ask for any further help re location. See www.rcag.org.uk/index.php/the-archdiocese/administrative-branch and search for Administrative Assistant. Sharon has been very helpful to many  :)

PS. It is such a nice memorial for Andrew's two wives. How old is the photo?

Thanks again.
It is a super photo. A lady in Germany who is distantly related to Anna Annacker spotted the name on my family tree on Ancestry and got in touch. She had also got in touch, also through Ancestry, with another distant relative of the Annacker family and they found this photo in an old box of letters and photos. She is going to look if there is a letter that was sent with it that might give further information.
Such serendipity!
