Christianna Williams compleated
« on: Sunday 11 January 09 10:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi
trying to trace family of this lady she was born between 1840 / 5 we thought in Shropshire but our investigations got us was a blank.
There is a birth in Wrexham about that time and a death in Holywell work house in 1869 died of TB. we have this death cert as we knew she had died at a fairy young age. I cant find any record in 1851 census of her in 1861 we think she was in Shropshire. She had to girls out of wedlock Martha and Sarah Williams who when they were young girls ended up living with a family called Dulson in Shropshire as she reported dead.
The girls were born in Shropshire. Father Unknown for both.
She was also supposed to have a sister called Elizabeth.
Any info would greatly appreciated on Christianna. As to her parents etc.
Thanks
Val

Hi Val,

How old was the Christianna who died in 1869? When and where exactly were the girls born?

The 1851 census shows a Christiana Williams age 14, in service at Oldcastle Shropshire, birth place Newton by Malpas, Cheshire. Have you ruled her out yet?

 :)

(In 1851, she's at Newton Juxta Malpas, birth place Oldcastle Cheshire, granddaughter to John and Christiana Williams. The IGI has a possible member-submitted christening: Christiana Williams, 4 July 1846, St Oswald, Malpas, Cheshire, mother Sarah)

Hi
Aged 25 says daughter of Ann Williams died Hollywell work house
Sarah Williams 1867 and Martha Williams 1865 We are not sure this is her death record.
Think cencus was 1861when she was 14 also found bap for her! 4 July 1846 St Oswald Mother sarah Williams no father also Bap for mary Williams 1842 St Oswald mother Sarah and Father Thomas
1851 cencus John Williams 63 + Christianna 65 Grandparents and age 5 Christianna but again not sure if this is right family although seems like it. She is a mystery to us The two girls as stated on Cencus are dulsons grandchildren again we cant find a link there either.

Can you post the census reference or details for the girls with the Dulson grandparents?  :)

If Christianna was born in the Malpas Parish then the Birth entry showing in the Wrexham Registration District could well be the correct one as the Malpas Births at that time were within the Wrexham District.See;

Ah OK, lots been done - Thanks Gadget :)

The Williams girls are down as granddaughters to the Dulsons in at least 3 census returns, so you'd think it wasn't an enumeration mistake.

Val - do you have the actual birth cert for Christiana Williams in 1846, or are you relying on the member-submitted IGI record?

Can anyone see the Dalson/Dulsons in 1861 and 1841, just out of curiosity?
