casualty of war?

can anyone help please? My great uncle was born in Tynypant Llanwchllyn in 1902, his name was Morris Edwards.  The only family information I have is that he died in 1922 but I cannot trace his death anywhere.  I have a vague memory of my grandmother saying he was killed in the war, but as it was not either of the world wars I cannot find if this was true. I would be very grateful for any help with this.
