I live in Melrose but it was before my time. I understand the shop entry was from through the close that runs from High Street  to Buccleugh Road. The current premises is now an optician but at the rear there is double gates in Buccleuch Rd leading into a courtyard where the bakehouse was converted into a house. They recently were refused permission to convert it into a cafe.Oddly enough its still called the bakehouse!! Sorry i cant find photographs.
