'Institution at 3 Brunswick Square' Bristol, Does anyone know about it?

Hi,

The 1911 census has thrown up a male relative, aged 23, as an inmate in an 'Institution'  located at 3 Brunswick  Square, subdistrict Bristol Central.

Does anyone know what kind of institution this was? The person in question didn't come from Bristol.

Any help would be appreciated on this one

Brunswick Square is located in the St Paul's district of Bristol. It was developed as one of the first Bristol Suburbs in the 18th Century and is has had an interesting and powerful history since.

In the 1880's the Hahnemann Homeopathic Hospital was established there. I believe during the late 1900's the Freemason's also had Lodges in the Square. I do not know what their exact addresses were.

Maybe by consulting a historic dictionary such as Kelly's you may find the answer. There are some online
