Hi Dave,

Am I to late to ask for a photo please?  That's if it's not too far out of the way.

71 Braeside Street, Glasgow.  Hope there's still something standing.

Never too late Alison as long as you don't mind a wait.
Braeside St is off Maryhill Road which is north of the city.
Other end of town from me but not too hard to get to.

Will send you a PM.

Dave

At an early age of 3-4yrs I remember living in Killdonan drive. The street will do. I moved to 62 Grant street, Just off Georges road Front and back of that house would be great, i have many fond memories of that house. I use to walk to Willow bank primary school which i do believe is now an Asian school. I have many more address's but have to ask my eldest brother if he can remember them. Thank you so much. I dont live in Scotland any more, Sadly. So what you are doing is a god send.

Hello Dave,

If you are out and about near any of these places, please take a photo for me.

1 Enfield St, Rutherglen, where my g grandfather died.

United Presbyterian Church, Western District, Cadder

Easter Qu Farm House, Shettleston

39 Carnbroe, Upper Row

I would also like a better photo of this Ness gravestone in the Glasgow Necropolis.

That will keep you out of mischief, eh ;)

Many thanks

Lorraine   :)

 Hi Wiggy ,
To you and others trying to wear out Dave`s shoeleather - there is a wonderful site called  " Geograph British Isles " - its purpose is to take as many photos as possible in every square mile of the British Isles.
Just  Google it and Type your place of interest into the Space   - Near -----. You will be amazed !
There is a photo of Rutherglen Station - the modern day version that your GG Grandfather probably would not recognize - and you are welcome to print them out free if it is for private use.  You can also contact the photographer and he may have other photos he can send you. I have been able to see many places where my folk lived courtesy of this site.
As  I live in OZ , it has been most useful. Sometimes , it is like walking where they would have done - give it a go , you won`t be disapointed.
We can pass around the hat and buy Dave a new pair of shoes.
