I wondered if it would be possible to find a baptism for Frank George Smallbridge Leat born April 1919 in Islington

Hi Aberdein

Do you know what street he wasd born in?

Islington is a large area of North London and has many sub parishes such as Highbury and Pentonville and had many places of worship even by 1919. To name a few is St Mary Islington, All Saints Islington, St Silas Pentonville.

His birth cert might give the parents address thus linking you to a nearby church but that costs  a few bob unfortunately.

Hi

It can be difficult looking for baptisms in big cities such as London after 1837 when the IGI coverage gets less because 1837 was when civil registers began. But the address where he was born will be the next step in finding a baptism.

Do  you know what Christian denomination church he was likely to have been baptised in?   This + address from birth cert may give you a lead...
