Hi there,

A couple of newspapers covering local news and having obits in them are the Chester Chronicle and the Daily Post.  The Chronicle used to have a Flints edition and there is now the Flintshire Chronicle published by the same people. The Post has a Welsh edition, but if you ancestor died in Liverpool there may have been an obit in the (Liverpool) Daily Post.

Paul says that there is only the Flintshire Observer in the archives for the period you require but it may be worth contacting the newspapers mentioned, just in case they have back copies available.

www.chesterchronicle.co.uk  and

www.dailypost.co.uk

Good Luck.

I live near the Church - shall I see if I can get a photo of the window?
There are some graves there too....

Hi,
I have visited the church twice now on a Sunday afternoon but it has been locked.
There are several graves at the front ( http://www.clwydfhs.org.uk/churches/Bistre/ )but literally hundreds and hundreds at the rear. Does anyone have an index to the burials at this church?

Have you tried the newspaper "The Flintshire Leader" sister to the Wrexham Leader?
