Hello Ron. Go to the  Witton le Wear subject page that I have posted.
(just google M inscriptions Witton le Wear) or scroll back to 11/May/08. Request them on that thread  and I will post the 3 gravestone inscriptions for Heslop.
Doing it this way makes it easy for other Heslop searchers to find the inscriptions.

Hello,Adam , Thanks for your prompt reply. Christopher Heslop, my grandfather was born in Swaledale c.1855 and died in Witton le Wear in 1926. Believe his second wife, Mary Ann (nee Coates) also born in the swaledale  c.1857 died 1939 is buried with him. They lived at Garten House and had a family of one son, Edmund (or Edward),  and daughters, Mary  E., Martha, Rebecca & Dinah.
Any information on this family would be most welcome.. Ron H.
