Hi again Gerry.

This is the nearest I can get with James Heap, born circa 1869.

James Heap head age 32   born Oswaldtwistle  coal miner
Peggy Heap wife  age 30   born Oswaldtwistle

James son age 9 born Oswaldtwistle
Nancy dau age 1 born Oswaldtwistle

Address 39 High Street Oswaldtwistle.

I know you said he was born at Yate and Pickup Bank, Darwehn.
But there is nothing I can see like that, and I don't know if
Oswaldtwistle is anywhere near there...better with the info
than without it...

Alice, Betsy and Ellen were probably married.....and did you really mean a John born in 1826?

Hi  JeannieR

Many thanks for the 1901 family details

1881 Census shows James born 1869, by 1891  this year of birth is shown against Harry and by 1901 it reverts back to James.   1881 and 1891 show James/Harry born in Yate & Pickup Bank, (Darwen,Nr Blackburn, Lancs) and   Oswaldtwistle is but a short journey over the moors from Darwen.

Sorry, wrong date for John, should read born 1882.

Much appreciate your help.

Gerry

Hello again Gerry,

Glad to have been of some help.

I have looked for your John, born 1882, there is no one that I can see that  stands out as yours, I am afraid...but I do understand that people did say they were born in one place, when in actual fact, they were born elsewhere...

A proper Lancashire person may be able to sort it for you though....I have to use a map!!!

Best Wishes
Jeannie
