Dan

Many thanks... a true gent... bless you

Was the church shown in the second picture built just after WWI ?
..  but what an interesting tranformation...

God forgive me, but the thought of 'Tilbury' and a 'sinking' church (know you said subsiding) brought a quick chuckle;  ... honestly hope nobody was ever hurt..

If ever I can return the favour..

Hi Dave. Loved your photos of St Johns church, I was born in Tilbury and lived at No 3 Ottawa road just behind the vicarage, lots of my family and relatives were married in the church but I never saw it looking like any of your photos.
I have a photo on flickr, (the only one I have of it) taken the 9th or 10th of December 1964 of the church, taken a couple days before I went to Australia.
I see that you have a flickr account, and that you are a member of the Thurrock group, your photos are very nostalgic for me, I would love to see All  of your Tilbury photos in the Thurrock group, Thank You Very Much.
Sincerely Sydney
