Hi,
Thank you for your thoughts. It certainly sounds as though Haddo is the place.
Jap this sounds like one for you!
I really am stuck and think that maybe the best thing to do would be to write out the problems I have.
John McLellan Ferguson was born 28 May 1915 (have the cert)
at Mosside Cottage, District of Kirkoswald, Ayrshire. (About 5 miles south east of Maybole)
His parents: Joseph Morrison Ferguson (Ploughman) and Evelyn Ferguson (maiden name McLellan) Married 18 Jul 1913 at Dalrymple, Ayrshire. (Cert)
Joseph's birth cert shows registered 13 Apr 1883 (difficult to read) New Pitsligo Aberdeenshire.
His parents: James Ferguson (Ploughman) and Christina Ferguson (maiden name Shea) Married 18 Mar 1893 New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire. (Cert)
Married one month before the birth.
Joseph's marriage cert shows 18 Jul 1813 Burnton, Ayrshire (Ploughman aged 20) and Evelyn McLellan (Farm sevant aged 21). Joseph was living at Cross House, Kilmarnock (difficult to read) and she was at Burnton Dalrymple. (Cert)
This is where the problem starts!
On the marriage cert of Joseph and Evelyn the parents are JOHN FERGUSON and CHRISTINA FERGUSON MAIDEN NAME MORRISON (Cert)
Are they the same people? I cannot find a marriage for John Ferguson and Christina Morrison.
Joseph Morrison Ferguson is killed in WW1 possibly 15 July 1917 leaving Evelyn with two children (should be three but I have not found the third)
The record I have found says he was born in Pitsligo Aberdeenshire living at Maybole Ayrshire and enlisted at Kilmarnock Ayrshire. He was a Private in the Highland Light Infantry and his number was 4095.
I hope this is clear enough it is very difficult to sort with poor images and different names. Can anyone help?
Something has just hit me! Joseph's middle name of Morrison matches the name on John/James Marriage cert to Christina Shea/Morrison.

There is something going on here, but what?
Could Christina have been pregnant by a Morrison but somehow married a Ferguson?
Thank you,
Abiam
