Hi Chris,
So sorry to hear about your sister - I do hope she is comfortable, and makes a good recovery. My own expericence of visiting relatives at Derby Royal Infimary have all been very positive - lovely staff.
I've just had a looked on ebay for you - it's not been relisted yet. Perhaps they've decided to contact you first - hope so.
Will try to keep an eye on things for you, and report back.
Have a good holiday.
Paulene :)

Hope you had a good holiday + things are going well for your sister.
Take care.

Hi Paulene

Thanks for that.

Holiday was a rest and a change of scenery, so it made a nice change - apart from trips down to Derby Royal Infirmary.

Sis is making steady process and they are hoping that she can go home early this week; only problem is that she lives on her own and so various procedures have to be put in place to look after her.

Sis is also a member of the 'old school' and does not, and will not ask for help or benefits - in her words "dont want everyone knowing my business" - she absolutely refuses to fill in any form that reveals any of her personal circumstances.

Just a very proud and stubborn old lady, (80 next year) but I love her to bits.

Will have to make an offer for that Hall item pretty soon - do you thing that £60 is more appropiate ?

Hi Chris,
Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner - I wanted to rummage through his/her past sales + see what other things are realising on the site (still doing that, in fact)
It seems to be the diary and odd thing like that that are bumping up the price, I think. Plus I suspect that he/she is hoping that a family member will see it - I hope you've made it clear that this isn't your family, Chris.
His/her prices do seem quite high. I noticed that there is another album (later date) for the Anstead family of Hackney which is priced at £265.00! Funnily enough I have a friend down south who is called Anstead, so I left him a message on his answerephone, just in case it is his family - he's doing his family history, too.
Have a look at this for comparison, Chris:

I'm so pleased you had a good holiday, despite the hospital visits, and your sister is getting better. Sounds like you may be doing a few more trips up that way, in the near future.
Take it easy!
As far as the price £60 is concerned - I'm not sure if that is still too high, Chris - lot for you to pay out of your own pocket.
Have a look at the other item, and let me know what you think.
Kind regards,
Paulene :)
P.S. I hope he/she isn't reading this! :-\ ;D

Hi Copperbeach,
I looked briefly last night, I think.
It didn't sell at £78.00.
It seems to take a few days for it to be re-listed, but I'll check for you and be right back.
Paulene :)

Hi again,
No, it's not been re-listed yet.

I see this particular seller has another album, with memorabilia for the Milburn Family of Fowberry Tower, Chatton, Northumberland. This one is dated c 1913, and is much cheaper at a starting bid of £38.00:

I'll try to let you know if the Hall one reappears over the next few days.
Take care,
Paulene :)
Not heard from Chris for a few days, but that may be due to his sister's situation - hope all is ok.

Hi Paulene,

Thanks for the update, it's interesting isn't it?!  Well judging by the way things have been going I think you will be right!

Yes I also hope that Chris's situation is ok.

Thanks again,
Best wishes,

Hi there

Hello again - and thanks for the good wishes for big sis

She is now home again and her bedroom has been moved downstairs to the dining room so that will help - but she is a stubborn old lady and has lots of pride so will accept no help or benefits from the authorities cos " she dosent want them knowing her business"

The reason that I have not been on line so much of late is because I have been given some old school admissions registers for a school in Hastings (1921 - 1924 inc) and Log books for the same school (1906 - 1939) so have been busy transcribing them and feeding data into access for sorting and retrival.

Am still watching the Hall memorabilia and may make an offer for it if and when it comes back on line

Thanks for still thinking of me
