hi ya

i married into the mc cabes and they are a small family, by irish standards, my husbands aunt was mary mc cabe but she was unmarried and moved to live in dublin, where she died. strange enough another cousin's  husband has just past away in dublin and we going to the funeral this weekend, we usually only have contact at christmas and birthdays... will ask for you when i there as there are a number of older members of the  family living there...they would be in their late seventies, early eighties and know everything there is to know about the family...will write down the details and ask them....

Thanks so much, I've pm'd you with my email.
I know the names are common and there were alot of them!  See if any of the family know about anyone who went to live in St Helens Lancashire. But we're talking about the 1860s here.
Other names connected to them were Lamb and McNamee - I got these off UK censuses, relatives who came to stay with them as lodgers in St Helens.
