Any data on JOHN McCRACKEN , [ a master baker] born abt 1808 Colmonell. Ayrshire please?

He married JANET McCREADIE , they were the parents of John McCracken born ? abt 1844, and Jean McCracken born 13th Jan 1832 Colmonell.

I have a Margaret McCracken born in Colmonell about 1804, do you think she might be related to your John McCracken. I think her fathers name was john.

Hi Brenda,

On further research I have discovered my Margaret had a brother named John born in 1799 and a sister called agnes born 1814. There parents were Thomas McCracken and Margaret Graham. It gets a bit difficult at times as the name is sometimes spelt McCraken.  My husbands great grandfather (John McQuaker) was living with Margaret and her husband John Ross in the 1871 census. Is this any help.

It gets more and more confusing..

Janet McCreadie married John McCracken. They were the parents of John who married Elizabeth Gibbon , daughter of Laurence Gibbon & Margaret McCreadie.

So I'm searching for two McCreadie families.

I have a copy of the death certificate for Margaret Gibbon M/S McCreadie.She died Jan  25th 1876. Father's name Thomas?
Don't know if she is the one you have.
