Great Grandparents - only photo - please help!

Hi Rootschatters!

My mother has given me this old photograph of her grandparents - it is the only one we have of them.

The original has been 'coloured in' and I think the original photo is underneath but I am too scared to attempt a clean up.

Can anyone have a go at digitally cleaning this for me please? (removing 'noise', scratches etc) I'd love to be able to give me mother a lovely clean and clearer and crisper version back.
