Abie

You would not be allowed to post the whole census form- copyright issues.
I just thought you could post the small section where the address is written.
However if you are happy that's what it says all well and good.
It was just a suggestion incase the writing wasn't all that clear.
Just seems odd that no one can find it doesn't it?

Could it possibly be Hargrave rather than Margrave?
There is a Hargrave Square listed in Bermondsey in the 1901 Census.

In the 1891 census there is a Hargreave Square and a Hargreave Place in Bermondsey.

Hi

Yes an H could be easily mistaken for an M even though they look different. Hargrave sounds more likely.

Searching the 1911, I can find  9 Hargreave Place, Rothsay Street, St Olave; and numbers 7, 8, 11, 12 and 13 Hargrave Place, St Olave. Nothing for Margrave Place.

Looks like it was probably pronounced 'Hargrave' but officially spelt 'Hargreave'.

In 1911, a family member was living at 12 Hargeave Square, and the address is clerly written on the form as that.
