It is unbelievable that there are 'people' who can cause such devastation and it is hearbreaking to see the pictures on our news.  I hope those who are responsible are brought to justice and put away for a long time.

My thought are with all who are affected.

How can anyone light fires that kill innocent people

Hi all

I too cried at the sight and sound of the devastation and heartbreak, not normally a violent or aggressive person it gives me heart to hear that if caught the arsonists will be charged with murder.  No doubt the do gooders will thwart this action especially if the persons responsible are found to be young offenders, but the sight last night of a young boy asking where his house had gone as the family drove away in a bus broke my heart.

The sight of that young boy  was only  one of many  that  made me cry, but  oh dear  that poor little bloke broke my heart.

And  the PM tells us today to brace ourselves for even more deaths.

What utter sorrow.

Australia  will  rally round  and just  watch  the appeal at tomorrow's cricket  it will raise an enormouse amount of cash.

Money will never ever replace loved ones  but at least it will give  the living a chance of rebuilding.

We can only utter platitudes but we do mean them

my heartbreak story was this lady telling how the fire was coming at them.
She said her husband was screaming and told her to ring her kids and say her goodbyes to them.
thankfully they both lived.  But what a thing to have to do.

On a lighter side, the footage of a fireman trying to shoo the possum away from the fire, the possum stayed near the fireman, then you see the fireman carrying the possum (with some difficulty, naturally), such a caring moment.

hi everyone,
i have seen the pictures of the terrible fires in Victoria state, it looks absolutely dreadful.

people who are fire bugs should be either shot or punished very severely

my heart goes out to you all, i have very dear friends in that state. hope they are ok.
