2010 Ballymoney Family History Festival
« on: Sunday 08 February 09 10:10 GMT (UK) »
Family historians around the world responsed to a message,  two years ago, from Ballymoney Museum, in Co. Antrim, when they asked people if they'd be interested in a proposed genealogy event later this year. Many of those who replied offered support as well as putting forward some ideas.

Subject to funding ... plans will begin for the first ever Ballymoney Family History Festival which will coincide with the Museum's 150th Anniversary celebrations taking place next year. Between 2007 and the present date the Museum management decided to use their resources for a re-fit of the exhibition galleries. The work should be completed during this summer but it means that the Festival will be rescheduled to the Autumn of 2010.

Further information will be available later in the year so that everyone who would like to attend has ample time to make their travel arrangements. The extra time means that the Museum staff will be totally committed with the organisation of the Festival which should ensure that it will be a much more rewarding event for everyone who plans to attend.

Anyone wishing to receive updates about the Ballymoney Family History Festival should visit the Museum website for contact details www.ballymoneyancestry.com/ballymoney-museum.aspx
