Sorry, but 1891 Irish census was destroyed long ago. First complete census for Ireland is 1901.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

from Slaters Commercial directory of 1870 -

in the Nobility, Gentry, &. Clergy section for the town of Baltinglass
Johnson Mr William, Baltinglass  (next town to Dunlavin)

I dont see any Johnsons in Baltinglass or Dunlavin in the later editions (1881, 1894) but these  only include business owners and trades-people - so employees and small farmers may not be included.

there's quite few Johnson entries in the area included in Griffiths

If the husband you are searching for is “James Johnson” and the wife is “Emily Smith” then I have their family history to share with you.  Their 3rd son was named “Gregory Lennon Johnson”.

I look forward to hearing from you.  Send me a personal message and I will be more than happy to give you this Johnson family’s history.

Take care and keep smiling!

As I've posted in a previous message, I too have a “Gregory Lennon Johnson” in my family tree.  Would you mind sharing what information you have to see if he might be my ancestor’s namesake?  They might just be related in some way and could possibly help me uncover the family of my mysterious Emily/Emma Smith/Smyth Johnson.

I’d truly appreciate a reply either way.   :)

Take care and keep smiling!
