I know this is an absolute stab in the dark, as this is an old thread; but I am Mark James Palmer. I live in Stockport, England.

My dad is called James Palmer and was named so by my grandfather, Walter Edward Palmer.  He was named after Walter’s father, who is the James Palmer in question in this thread.

Hi , My name is mike Swales ; Ref; James Palmer , according to my DNA James was my Grandfather , I have recently met with his family from Stockport & the stories about him & his life have opened up so many questions , my blood line connection to James comes through my Grandmother Theresa Agnes Swales who met James in 1917 while stationed in Cleethorpes , Dad never mentioned his father , the only clue was Palmer on his birth cert as a middle name ,I'm aware of his family in Mullingar , if any of his daughters family could contact me that would be amazing ,
