Edward jones school master

Trying to find out who my great great grandmothers father was. She was born in 1855 in Aberystwyth to a Mary Jones no father mentioned on her birth certificate. However on her marriage certificate she names her father as Edward Jones, occupation school master. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please.
