Richard,
            Have a look at     www.jochenlueg@freeuk.com
If you take the "Scenic Drive" there are various photographs showing Lough Foyle and the Innishowen Peninsula. The first one , although taken after dark shows the River Roe flowing into Lough Foyle and this is fairly close to your ancestors home.

Regards

Thank you both, great photos!

P.S.  And here are my great great great grandparents -- married in Indiana County, Pennsylvania on  12 Nov 1831 -- Matthew Ray (2 Oct 1805-12 Nov 1887) was born in Co. Tyrone; his wife, Jane McCunn (2 Dec 1805-3 Feb 1888) was born in Co. Londonderry (daughter of John McCunn and Mary Smith) and evidently resided in Faughanvale parish prior to her immigration to America with parents around 1829.  Matthew and Jane's daughter, Eliza Jane (1836-1916) married my great great grandfather, John Cochran(e) (1833-1911) who was born in Oghill near Limavady.
