Sorry to ask for help again but I have spent hours trying to find John Farrah and Susanna/Susan in the 1861.  In your last post you found Isabella aged 8 and a child Susan aged 4 (from the new marriage) can you give me the reference, please.
Thank you,
Jill

1861 census RG9 201 folio 71
1 Goswell Mews 116 Goswell Rd St Lukes Middlesex
John Farrah 34 Head Married  Rice dresser St Lukes Middlesex
Susan Farrah 36 Wife Married Umbrella maker Aldgate Middlesex
Thomas Farrah 11 Son  Bermondsey Surrey
Elizabeth Farrah 12 Daughter Bermondsey Surrey
Isabella Farrah 8  Daughter St Georges in the East Middlesex
Susan Farrah 4 Daughter St Georges in the East Middlesex
Rosena Farrah 1 Daughter St Lukes Middlesex
William James 22 Unmarried Visitor Rice dresser St Lukes Middlesex

To prove the 1847 marriage is correct Isabella's birth certificate will give her mother's maiden name. The 1847 marriage if it is the correct one will then of course give father's names for both John and his second wife and state John was a widower. It is more difficult to prove the John Cave/Susana Driver marriage of 1827, as though there were two known children born to this marriage after civil registration it appears neither had their birth registered though there is this birth registration for which there is no corresponding death registration (not all births registered as male or female were babies that died very young. The requirements were to register births you didn't have to give the child a name if you hadn't yet thought of one. I even met someone who had their birth registered in such a way in 1907).

Births Dec 1837
Cave  Male    Bermondsey  4 17

The earlier 1827 marriage might give useful information from the witnesses names.

The first marriage produced 6 known children - it is possible there might have been others.

The second marriage produced at least three children. Again there might have been others that died young.

Elizabeth circa 1848

Births Dec 1849
CAVE  Thomas James     Bermondsey  4 14
Deaths Mar 1870
Cave  Thomas James  20  London C.  1c 26

Births Jun 1852
Cave  Isabella    Whitechapel  1c 371
Cave  Isabella     Whitechapel  1c 373

There were three known daughters from the Farrah marriage

Births Jun 1857
Farrah  Susan     St Geo East  1c 411

Births Mar 1860
FARRAH  Rosina     St Luke  1b 580

Births Jun 1862
FARRAH  Mary Ann     St Luke  1b 572

But then since censuses only give a snapshot of one night in every 10 years, there could be other possibilities e.g.

Births Mar 1864
FARRAH  Louisa     St Luke  1b 643
Deaths Mar 1865
FARRAH  Louisa     St. Luke  1b 542

On the 1871 census the eldest daughter Susan Farrah was staying with her married half sister Elizabeth nee Cave.

1871 census RG10 300 folio 34
25 Grafton Road  Road Islington
Alfred Littleford 28 Head Married Goldsmith Jeweller Clerkenwell Middlesex
Elizabeth Littleford 22 Wife Married Bermondsey Middlesex
Isabella V Littleford 1 Daughter Islington Middlesex
Susannah Farrar 14 Sister-in-law Whitechapel Middlesex

Marriages Dec 1869
CAVE  Elizabeth    Holborn  1b 968
LITTLEFORD  Alfred     Holborn  1b 968
