CoTyroneIreland Community Web-site
« on: Friday 13 June 08 23:02 BST (UK) »
Hello Friends  :)

The CoTyroneIreland community web-site that works hand- in-hand with the mailing list of the same name, has been updated and we have many new databases. So do check us out.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cotyroneireland/

Also in Feb. this year we started a "Gravestone Inscriptions Project" Thanks very much to Tammy.

The mission of this project is to capture digital images of gravestones of our ancestors. As decades pass -- many stones are becoming harder, if not impossible, to read the inscriptions they originally contained.

By archiving the images, we can help save these important records and also assist researchers using this valuable resource.

This website is new as of February 2008. Therefore we ask that you join in and "Submit a Gravestone Photo" of your ancestor's resting place. As the database grows we hope to become a unique resource for those trying to connect with the people in their extended family trees.

Even if you don't have a photo of the gravestone, you can use  a generic one that is available. So please join us in adding your Co Tyrone Ancestors.  ;D

Happy Hunting~ Angel

Hello All

A reminder of the CoTyroneIreland Community Web-site, which goes hand-in-hand with the mailing list of the same name. Many people from our  list have contributed parish transcriptions, data, pictures etc.  This truly is a work of dedication to bring together so many people to provide primary and secondary source data to all who seek their Co. Tyrone ancestors. *Happy Hunting*  :D
