Thomas Farmer Dagenham 1808
« on: Thursday 19 February 09 11:43 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I have hit a brick wall trying to trace the ancestors of Thomas Farmer who was born around 1808 and married Elizabeth Warren (19/8/1832 at St. Matthew bethnal Green).

The 1841/51/61/71 census returns give different possibilities for his birth:
1841 (listed as James, with William erased underneath, but I am almost 100% sure it is Thomas): Living in Dagenham, but not born in county (Essex), although it says the same for daughter Elizabeth who was born in  Dagenham.
1851: Living and born in Dagenham
1861/71: Lving in Dagenham and born in Barking.

I have searched the baptism records at the Essex Records Office for Barking and Dagenham and most of the surrounding parishes without luck. I believe the marriage to be correct because I have Robbin's (1856) and Elizabeth's (1838) birth certificate (father Thomas Farmer, mother Eliabeth Farmer formerly Warren).

Any ideas anyone?
Regards, Steve.
