After stumbling around in the dark for so long I could not believe that in such a short space of time I was contacted with information that far exceeded my expectations.

Fantastic site! Have had so much help from members, some of which has helped point me in the right direction ( I hope).
Amazing how many amateur genealogists there are out there and how much they know.

Thanks Rootschat! Where would we be without you? ???

Rootschat has been more than helpful, and everyone is so friendly to us newcomers, within 24 hours I had found enogh family to populate a small city. Particular thanks to Carol and Jonathan.  Hope one day to learn enough to help others.

Keep up the good work  ;)

What a great site after just a few days I was put on the right track and I'm now hoping to complete my research very soon.  I also found some info for one of our chatters and he sent me a very complimentary letter what a Buzzzzzzzz.

And the answer to your question is a very big YES. :) :)

i hope rootschat will be of some use to me.i have tried several
sites, for my smyth ancestors from county down ireland.but so far have had no sucess in tracing any of my family,i have requested if someone could look up the 1901 census for dunsford county down for a malcolm and bridget smyth they were married in dunsford r.c.chapel in 1894 and thier place of residence was given as chapeltown,i wondered if they were still in the area in 1901. the people in northern ireland dont seem to be very helpfull on lookups.or is it just me that is not getting my message across,in the right way   best wishes w.j smyth ???
researching smyth.savage. mccoy.mccutcheon.king.
these are the names i am most intrested in some others are holland .rooney.and fisher with county down ireland connections
