Constant A Moeller

Looking info on Constant A Moeller's ancestry (of Naragansett beer) and his wife Augusta.  He was born in Germany in 1844.  Also any obituaries on him or his wife.  I do have census info on him and his kids.  Anyone know how best to look into this?

Constand A. Moeller born Apr.1844 Germany according to 1900 U.S. Census but 1880 census says he was born in Saxony and came to U.S. 1860.
Daughter Lillian Emma Moeller's 1924 passport application lists father Constant A. Moeller (deceased) born Germany and says he came to US 1874.

He seems to have lived for years in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut rather than Rhode Island where the brewery was located. Connecticut death certificates have quite a bit of detail- have you gotten a copy yet (might list parents, etc.?
Where did he marry Augusta? (Connecticut marriage records ask for names of parents, birthplace, etc.)
Best newspaper for obituary is probably New Haven Register- other possibilities for obituary is Hartford Courant and New York Times and maybe the Providence Journal.

Where did you find the stuff on his will?  That's fascinating! - maybe I can write for his death certificate now.   I'm a descendant of his daughter Constantina Alweena.  You are better at reading the handwriting on the census records than I am.  Thank you for the will information!!

Great person to investigate!  Remember those wonderful Narragansett Beer ads in the 1960s - they advertised on the Red Sox games.  "Hi, neighbor, have a 'Gansett."

The 1870 census has him born in Baden...surely the Ennis in his household b. Baden age 60 might be his father.....

Thanks for the tip on the 1870 census.  I'll have to look at that again.  I had missed that very good info about his ?? father!
