Michael WARD, nailer, of Dudley
« on: Saturday 21 February 09 17:52 GMT (UK) »
Has anyone come across Michael WARD, an 18th century nailer, at Dudley?  His son Edward was born around 1790 and worked all his life as a nailer in Salop Street in the Shaver's End area of the town.

Any information would be appreciated  :)

Hi

Thanks for your response to my posting.  There are a couple of Harriets in 'my' Michael Ward's family - his son Edward married Harriet Southall at Dudley around 1814-1815, and one of their children was Harriet, born at Dudley in 1820.

Alas, neither of them fits in with your Harriet.

Hi judijee, did you know that the Lords of Dudley were Wards?  I know the links have been very well researched, try googling Ward and Dudley.  HTH from linell.

Thanks for that, linell.  It would be great to think I was related to the nobility of Dudley, but somehow I don't think my Wards were that posh.  Still, you never know...  ;)
