Ohhhh thats very interesting Sue,i hadnt noticed that!!
I havent got the cert but me thinks i'm gonna have to get it after noticing that,on the site i use i dont suffolk  on the 1851 census  does it say any relation or anything to Abraham and Susan at all for James??

Re the below message : Burford Hunter Hawes died 16 Jun 1855 on the St Abbs (Indiaman) & was a Midman in the Indian Navy according to the India Office records at the British Library. The ship was shipwrecked on the Juan de Nova Reef & Burford was on his passage to join the Indian Navy as a cadet , he was aged 16 & the 2nd son of Captain Hawes RN Superintendent at Portpatrick...not too sure whether its the same guy but an unusual name & the age seems about right .
My interest lies with the Burford family & so was wondering whether anyone has come across any links with the 2 families ?
