Help needed again.- Where was 16 EFTS

Hello.
Following lots of help from members of this and other forums, I am trying to work out where my father was during WW2.
He was in Canada on a Navigators couse from Oct 1943 to Jan 1944 and his service record then states that he was on 16 EFTS course from April 1945 to July 1945.  I assumed that this was in Canada also, but I have since found a ticket for HMTS Pasteur on which he sailed home to England in March 1945.

So I assume he attended 16 EFTS in England. Does anyone know where this would have been based at his time?

Hi Ali,
         16 Early Flying Training School was at Burnaston ,Derby, Derbyshire. England. If you Google you will find loads of info.

I was up for visiting the airfield to find that Toyota built on top of it in 1989.  What a pity.

I am still trying to find a photo of the old airfield.

There was a #16 Elementary Flying Training School in Canada as well, it was at Edmonton, Alberta and it's dates of operation were between 11/11/40 and 07/12/42

Thank you Alan, but my father was definitely not in Canada at that time.  Why do you think they moved some of the training courses?

Do you know which aeroplanes were used at the No.16 EFTS in Derby, England?
