Mulvey, Egan, Brennan, Lenahan/Linehan
« on: Tuesday 24 February 09 10:23 GMT (UK) »
I've just made some fabulous progress in my Brennan research.

I'm researching my great grandfather Thomas Brennan and my grandmother Lydia (Lulu) Brennan) who sailed 1928 to NY with Mulvey's and Egan cousins and stayed in Long Island with cousin Michael
Mulvey and wife Helen.

1901 Roscommon census shows the Mulvey's as follows.

Townland Clooniff
Parish Moore
Barony Moycarn
County Roscommon

Patrick senior 78 widow/farmer
Martin 36 and wife Bridget 27
Patrick 3
Kate 8 months
Patrick 14

It's believed that little Kate died young.
Martin and Bridget had 5 sons
Pat, Mike, Tom, Martin, John/Jack/Sean.
They had 2 girls
Mary and Bridget.

Now established Mulvey's married into Egan family, which most likely were
from Ballinasloe
Egan related to Carrolls.
Carrolls related to my connection of Lenahan also known as Linehan.

It also appears that Mulvey's were related to my Brennan's but need to
establish how.

Is anyone else researching any of these families?
Or can anyone offer any advise or direction?

I'm aware that descendants still live in Cloniff and that there are only 3
houses in Cloniff, so I will follow that up by letter.

Regards Jackie.

Hi Jackie,

The child Martin MULVEY s/o Martin MULVEY and Bridget MULVEY nee WARD you refer to is my maternal grandfather!
I'm also researching my family tree / history but have consentrated thus far more on my paternal line.  All the same, I feel that I have alot of info. that would be useful to you and I'm hopeful of obtaining more in the near future as I be travelling for a cousin's wedding this summer.  I would be very interested in comparing notes with you.
