I have recently being entering all the research that my mother did on the Verrier family onto my own comuter tree. I found this site by chance but want to let you all know that all the research that is in Maidstone records office was deposited there by myself after my mother died in 2003. I still have her rough tree with some info on it if anyone is interested.

Hi to Wendyr,
I am Lynbod, I have been off the radar for a while, Ann Jane Keeling Verrier is my g/g/g/father's sister and I would very much like the information that you have.  My g/mother was Lillian Fanny Frances Verrier born 1901 England, died 1989 in Murwillumbah, New South Wales, Australia.  I would be happy to share with you the Australian side of the family.

This is ridiculously late but I have just found you request re the Verrier family. From the parish records of St Leonard's church, Deal:
Children of John & Jane VERRIER, Cordwainer of Upper Deal

25 Oct 1818  John VERRIER
20 May1821  William Edward VERRIER
16 Feb 1823  Ann Jane Keeling VERRIER
19 Jun 1825  Charles Keeling VERRIER    (at this time John was working in Calais)

Marriage at St Leonard's Church:

14 Oct 1856  Job HALLAWELL  Servant of Chester, son of William HALLAWELL, Servant
to Ann Jane Keeling VERRIER Servant of Middle Deal Road, daughter of John VERRIER, Shoemaker
Witnesses: Charles K. VERRIER, Martha WYMAN

Hope this is of some use

Regards

AJ

Parents of the ones I posted were John VERRIER & Jane (very indistinct writing) PIEARSON (I think). Original way of spelling Pearson, perhaps.
They were married at St Leonard's Church, Deal on 8th Jan 1818. Witnesses were Ralph PITTOCK, Elizabeth VERRIER, Sara VERRIER.
Both were described as 'of this parish' so it's reasonable to assume they met in Deal.

I have just looked further into my records and discover that John actually married Jane PIERSON. An unusual name in Deal and the only one I can find.
She was baptised 1795 d/o James & Ann PIERSON
John was baptised 1796 s/o John & Mary VERRIER, one of 4 children
Both baptised in Deal at St George's or St Leonard's

Thank you vey much for this information.

I was sidetracked because there also was a John Verrier who married a Jane Keeling in Kent and seeing that this name 'keeling' is used as a second name I was 100% convinced that Jane Keeling was her mother.
But Seeing as she has a very distinct name Ann Jane Keeling Verrier and that name appears on her wedding certificate and her son, my GGG Grandfather's Birth Certicate it has to be her.

Thanks Once Again !!

PS

I meant Ann Jane Keeling and Job Hallawell meeting.
One from Kent and one from Cheshire.

Logical thing to think. I too would have expected the mother to be Jane Keeling. Had a look and there was only one family around that time of that name. A Thomas Keeling was born in 1806 to parents Thomas & Mary.
No other Keelings appear implying that they were here only for a short time.
