Jones/Evans marriage?

Hi all,
i have my grandfathers birth cert at last, which give his parents as Arthur Jones and Blodwen Jones nee Evans, i have searched and searched for a marriage and just cant find it, found loads of Jones/Evans marriages but none that fit with regards the names, have searched for her and then him to see if anything matches but nothing, doesnt help that i dont have an exact date, grandfather was born Dec 1921, Bridgend, so have searched years before and after but nothing.
Does anyone know where i can go from here?

The only remotely similar names I came up with Arthur and Blodwen were

Marriages Jun 1929 
 
Evans    Arthur J    Jones    Bridgend    11a   1453
Jones    Blodwen A    Evans    Bridgend    11a   1453   


My great grandmother had 3 children before she decided to get married

Thanks for that, it could be a possibility, anything can, but gt grandfather Arthur was a very religious man, lay preeacher apparently, but as you say, some people didnt get married straight away. Another stumbling block i suppose. Sadly i never knew this side of my family due to a family fued that started 39 years ago and is stll going on now with some rellies!

Grandfathers name was Ronald Lloyd Jones born 30/12/1921 Bridgend.

I found Ronald registered in Mar 1922 in FreeBMD.org.uk and it definitely states his mother's maiden name is Evans.

As you state, it is doubtful the the 1929 marriage is the parents. 

I did come across a marriage in FreeBMD but it kept looping when I tried to find out who the Jones was and I understand Merthyr is 16 miles from Bridgend

No luck in Ancestry Marriages either.

Thanks, i have Ronalds birth cert which does state his parents, have tried jiggling the name Blodwen, ie Bronwen and such but no such luck.
Have had a look at that marriage in Merthyr, tried to find the Jones, but couldnt, have just gone onto FindMyPast to check the marriage for jones june 1920 and i have run out of credits! Damn will have to wait til my credits are transfered over from fho.
