Hi, think this is going to sound a bit cheeky, but would someone please help me find birth,  marriage, death or census details on this family. I am really struggling to come up with anything on this one.

These are the family details i have been trying to work from.

Reading 2c - 871 ( Caversham is in the Reading Reg. District)

Births of Frederick Allens daughters

Betty E. Allen
June Q 1937
Reading 2c - 539
Mother's maiden name - Lee

Jean Allen
June Q 1939
Reading 2c - 585
Mothere's maiden name – Lee

to take the uncertainty out of it, you need to get their marriage Cert - 'twill reveal Father's names & occupations, the bride & grooms ages etc ....

You seem to have all the info - you just need to send for the certificates.

With you mentioning Caversham, I checked out my Oxon FHS CD. I couldn't find the marriage there but here are the girls' baptisms in St John's,Caversham -

Born 23 March 1937, baptised 6 June  Betty Elaine d/o Frederick John & Elsie Beatrice Evelyn Allen of 54 Kings Road, Caversham. Frederick was a nurseryman.

Born 2 May 1939, baptised 2 July Jean Margaret d/o Frederick John & Elsie Evelyn Allen of 54 Kings Road, Caversham. Frederick was a water-man. Godparents names are: E Grimes, C Grimes & D Snow.

Thanks for your help and for looking up that info for me, with regards to marriages i was hoping to find out if the daughters ever married, if they are still alive and when frederick and elsie passed away.

Thanks again for your help, i will put the baptism info into my tree.

Oh no Jill, the info i put up was all the info on this family i had, so any help is greatly appreciated. Re- reading my first post, i never made myself too clear did i

I've looked on the Berkshire Burial Index. I can't find anything for Betty or Jean Allen, so that may mean they survived into adulthood and married - I don't know.

I did find these burials in St Giles, Reading:

9 Aug 1958 Elsie Allen age 47  abode: Caversham c/o 62 Rotherfield Way

2 May 1986 Frederick Allen age 98  abode: Maidstone, Nursing Home.

I don't know if they are the correct couple, as that would mean an age gap of some 23 years - if the ages at death are correct!
