avoca mines/mates/adam

is there any list of the names of miners and anyone else that might have worked in the mines in avoca.. my great great grand father was from tigroney ... His name was Michael Mates and i know nothing about him as i only found him today... he was dead by 1881 as it says this on his sons francis mates marriage cert to eliza adams.. from the same area does anyone know anything about her... any thing would be much appreicated...
