They were married in 1847 in Plymouth Devon
Looking for them on 1851 Census , plus any children

Sorry - Cancel that thought I can see the marriage of Henry and Martha in 1851. Still not seeing the correct couple

yes there is a BERRY/LANE marriage ive noted too, but their son Thomas LANE berry, Is not my line

Tho this Martha born Bradninch too, Around same age

On the 1881Martha was a Widow, listed as being from Bradninch but question Mark

There is something suspect here I think Cathy. I don't see William and Martha until 1871. (or should I say William and M)

 In 1861 there is a Martha born in Devon in Somerset married to a William born in Somerset or there is

Martha b in Upottery is still in Coombe St Michael Somerset with William b in Coombe St Michael. I suspect this is the couple from the marriage you quote.

The Registration district of Tiverton covers Bradninch - You have the wrong marriage

Hi Cathy,

Yes I think so - birth certs needed to confirm it. It looks to me like the same family and he goes from being Henry to being William between 1861 and 1871. I think she is Martha LANE. As I said I have a couple I think can account for the William Berry Martha Davis marriage. He was from Somerset and that is where they are living Coombe St Michael in Somerset. I can find the Somerset family in the same place all the way through. I cannot find another William and Martha but I do have Henry and Martha. 1871 no sign of Henry and Martha but we have William and M who look very like the same family. 2 Children born in Bradninch with the same names though Elizabeth has aged a bit. Martha and Henry born in same places at same times as William and Martha. I feel it is the same family but you will need the Birth and Marriage certs of Children to prove it. Maybe he is William Henry 

1841 we have Martha LANE in Bradninch with her father Richard
Martha DAVIS is in Stoke Damerel with her mother Martha (Fits with the Plymouth marriage)

Definitely think birth certs are the way to go, not just trying to confirm it thru censuses, as like u said, with william he could have henry as a middle name and known as William or Henry.

Just noticed on Censuses too
in 1861 a Son Thomas Berry born circa 1858 in Bradninch  in 1871 Census a Son Thomas aged 3 Born Bradnich circa 1868
First sion thomas died ??then renamed another son Thomas
