Hi Sue,
Thank you very much, that is very kind of you, another piece of the puzzle solved, Now I have to find when they went out there.
I think Sydney was born in Canada but there do not seem to be any on line records for the years 1922.
Thanks,
Ann E

This could be them:

Vessel:  Ausonia
Date of Arrival:  August 16, 1913
Port of Departure: Southampton, England
Port of Arrival:  Quebec

Alfred Cass age 30, b. England, S. Army occ. porter Destination:  Montreal  Rel: SA
Emma   "     age 35, b. England, S. Army occ. housewife   "              "             '      '

going to Brother  Moulder. (Moulder appears to be brothers occupation).

I am not sure but think the S. Army stands for Salvation Army??

 Hi dollylee,
That is fantastic, yes that is them, I thought his brother may have gone out to Canada ,as I found his marriage in 1900 &  the birth of one child in 1901,  Emma’s family were all in the Salvation Army, I take it there was no other info on the address of brother?
 Thank you.

As they were headed for Montreal:
http://bibnum2.bnquebec.ca/bna/lovell/index.html

1913/1914 shows three persons surnamed Cass:
H. Cass, pipe fitter, 342a St James
Jas W Cass, salesman, 64 Addington Av
S. H. Cass, collector, 2042 Hutchinson Outremont

same three persons in 1915/1916, except H. Cass's address is now 72 Colborne.

By 1924/1925 Alfred H, teacher, is at 64 Addington Av.
James Cass, Gault Bros, has moved to 28 Addington.
(I didn't check intervening years, but you should be able to track them through each year).
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

 Hi Jorose,
Thank you for the info on the site, that is wonderful, It looks like my Alfred was the Janitor (on arrival back in the UK stated he was a Caretaker)
The listing for J W Cass could be his brother, James William, I looked until 1932 and there is no listing for A H Cass.
I have a photo “taken 1922 Verdun Em & Sidney” there was a listing of J W Cass in Verdun, so is looking good.
I hope it won’t be long before the 1915 census are up & running, hopefully that will confirm things.
Thanks,
 Ann E

Every one has been so helpful, Please would it be possible for someone look in the out going index to Canada?
for James W Cass, b 1879 his wife Florence M, b 1876, & their son James born 1901, they were on the IOW in the 1901census, not in the 1911 census.
 Thank you Ann E
