Looking for Ann WATTS born Frome 1829/30
« on: Friday 06 March 09 19:26 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I have a Edward Watts Tye born 1859 in Hadleigh Suffolk who's parents are Walter Tye and Ann Watts.
Walter Tye was bap 20 Jul 1834 Mendlesham Suffolk and parents are John Tye & Susan surname unknown (although could be Howlett), Ann was born Frome 1829/30.
I am trying to find the father of Ann Watts who could be either Isaac Watts bap 14 Mar 1797 or John bap 11 July 1801 both Romsey, Hampshire.  Although do not have a wife of either John or Isaac yet.
I have searched and searched and cannot make the connection to John or Isaac, I might be wrong, looking at both these men, but cannot find the father.
I have a diary entry which reads:
Lizzie Tye - High view Cottage, Nonewden(?) Woolbridge, Brother Edward watts Tye at Ipswich.  Her mother & Grandma Quick were cousins, decendents from two branches of Isaac Watts's brothers (meaning John or Isaac)

Would be grateful for any assistance
Trish

The only Ann Watts I can find is in Frome Union Workhouse in 1841 aged 12 and since they appear together would appear her father was a Jeremiah 40, plus Charles 6, Thomas 3 and last of all is a Benjamin aged 15.
Ref. HO107 - 942 - 13 - 27 - 8

Cannot find an Ann Watts born Frome in 1851.

The place names referred to in the diary entry you mention are Monewden and Woodbridge.
