Printing trade in East London
« on: Saturday 07 March 09 13:57 GMT (UK) »
Just out of interest, if you are stated as being a Photographic Artist on a child's birth certificate in the 1860's in Shoreditch, would it be feasible from then onwards to be a Compositor and Printer on various Censuses, in other words have I got the right person?

Also, would there be a logical reason for this same person to give a different Christian name on the birth certificate of his son and state they were married when in fact they were not, especially bearing in mind he was a lot younger than the mother! I realise they were more moral times (sort of!) but I am desperate to nail down my Great Great Grandfather.

Many thanks - Jill
