I know you already have this census but I am posting it for info only

1881 for Bradford Yorks

Allan Lee 37 b Gomersall Yorks
Margaret 31 b Newcastle on Tyne
Mary E 13 b Beamish Park Durham

Did you get Margaret's maiden name from Mary's birth cert?

Carole i can't thank you enough i have been doing my tree for over a year well over and had always thought that Margaret had come from the Hudson's in Glanton Northumberland until about a month ago i looked at the 1871 and 1881 census and she was still at home in Glanton so in 1871 she could not be in lodging with Allan, down in Yorkshire, i could not understand how thay had a child Mary born 1868 yet on the 1771 census she is not there but thanks to you i am sitting here sunday morning over the moon that i now know where she came from Thanks again.
Alan.

Hi

Here are the Hudson's in 1861 - Tanfield Durham.  Quite a big gap between James and Christopher so wonder if it's a second marriage - I'll check 1851

Thomas Hudson 33  b Newcastle on Tyne - coal miner
Mary 32  b Benwell
Margaret   10  b Gosforth
James   9  b Newcastle on Tyne
Christopher  5 Months b Durham Perkin Colliery
RG9; Piece: 3729; Folio: 95; Page: 34

I'm dubious about this 1851 entry but I cannot find another

1851 for Longbenton

Thomas Hudson 23 b Cumberland Carlisle - hewer
Mary 21 b North Benwell
Christopher 2 b Morpeth
HO107; Piece: 2411; Folio: 13; Page: 18

Christopher probably died in infancy and was replaced by the Christopher b 1860

I have checked the 1861 and there is no Thomas Hudson b Cumberland married to Mary
