Thank you for all that - I am sorry I just saw the email re the reply. I must update the email on this. It is unusual that there is no location for Catherine's Birth - It has 1841? or maybe that was when it was registered. Her records always had Chatham, Kent so maybe born at the Barracks her father's Btn was around then from the Army locations you gave.  No mention or confirmation of her mother's name?
Thank you again. I need to read them all again.

I do not have the death record of Daniel Green but Ancestry had some Army records with him listed as deceased in 1858 and he is listed as deceased on Catherine's marriage in 1859. I didn't have this on his record in my tree anymore but found it in another tree of DNA matches to SHEA/GREEN line. Not sure why I removed it. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/1686/images/31794_221403-00562?pId=452225
Died of "Dysenteria Acut." at Camp ? 15 June 58.
I do have Medal records for Crimea 1855 and India Mutiny 1857-58 but they have different Regt Numbers - 3975 and also ?768 [1168 or 1768?]  for Crimea 1855.

It may be necessary to purchase the 1841 birth registration.

Catherine may have been born out of Chatham and never known it as that is where she was brought up.

Thank you again. I haven't found that link - you have given me the information but I am lost sorry. I know how to order from the GRO Index and I have previously - years ago, ordered and obtained death certificates from British Army records but not sure how I did that - one was for Catherine's daughter-in-law, also Catherine SHEA nee CONNOR who died in Malta in 1902 and Catherine GREEN's son RW SHEA [my grandmother's parents].
A link to the record quoted would be great so I can then click on the Order button but as we each have a login I guess that may not work. Sorry I am getting bamboozled. Sometimes I am sure I just fluke finding and ordering records. Just going around in circles here though.
Sue

Hi Sue

I would imagine that you could order it from this GRO page
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates

Where was the event registered?
England or Wales
Another part of the United Kingdom or British IslesOutside the United Kingdom and registered by the British Forces, Consul or High Commission
(including Forces or Regimental records in the UK, Ireland or other British Isles between 1761-1924, see Overseas records GRO hold)

It's a while since I ordered this type of cert. If I remember correctly you have to provide the GRO index. Hence my providing "Line No - 85" in my post. I think this is the reference required - it does not use "Vol/Page No.".
