Parents of Jean Laurens b. 1808
« on: Monday 09 March 09 11:20 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to find the parents of Jean Laurens who I believe was born in St Lawrence, Jersey in about 1808, (if the census's are correct).

He married Susanna Le Lierve before 1842, when their first son was born, (John born 14/4/1842, St Helier, although I think he then died). John was a Shoemaker.

I am also interested in Susanna's parents, if possible, please.

Thank you

Pam

Hi Pam

Unfortunately there are two Jean's baptised in St Lawrence about the time in question.

10th Sept 1809 - Son of Jean and Anne Rondel
18th May 1806 - Son of Elie and Marie Le Cornu

Jean Laurens and Susanna Le Lievre (I think you've spelt her name incorrectly) were married in St Helier Church, 18th Jan 1840.

Susanna Le Lievre was baptised in St Helier Church on 5th May 1816, the daughter of Francois Le Lievre and Susanne Luce.

Thanks very much for the info, Stewart.

I can't find them in the 1841 census, even now I know they were married in 1840.

I think I will er on the 1809 Jean, as an 1806 Jean was married to a Mary Ann. Both, would you believe it, were Shoemakers. Doesn't help when trying to work out who people are.

Thanks again.

Pam
