CFC - CEF

I recently found the gravesite of a distant relative of my husband's and the details included CFC - CEF.  I knew he was a member of the Canadian Expeditionary Force although his attestation papers don't appear online, just his name.  I had no idea what the CFC stood for.  Love the history lessons you learn through genealogy.  Timber was an important asset and the decision to not ship it from Canada and instead clear forests in Britain and France meant they needed to find a qualified work force and for that they turned to Canada and the Canadian Forestry Corps was created.
