Hi Tony  ;D

Sorry but no luck, there are no Bacons listed in the Belper Workhouse 1840-1843 nor any entries for Monumental Inscriptions at Belper Congregational or Duffield General Baptist.

Best of luck with your research

Cheers :-*
Jan

Hi there
You do realise that the Bacon family mainly came from Essex and would have migrated up here with enclosures and the infant industrial revolution. Have you looked round there to see if these people had either gone there or came from there. Particularly look round the Sturmer/Steeple Bumpstead area which is where most of them were. They intermarried with Keatons, Claydons (Smiths of Essex) and also were related to the Nunns. It's worth a look
