Christie's Parish of Fettercairn, Kincardine 1901 Census
« on: Wednesday 11 March 09 21:16 GMT (UK) »
I am tracing the Christie family from Fettercairn 1870's.  Father Alexander Christie, Mother Margaret nee Ferrier

The names I am tracing are:

Charles Christie b 1860
William Ramsay Christie b 1862
James Christie b 1864
David Fullerton Christie b 1870

They also had another brother George Sherret Christie and two sisters Jane Ann and Maggie who I have found.

I have traced the family in the 1871 and 1881 census as residing at Mossend Farm House in the Parish of Fettercairn, Kincardine.

Their father Alexander Christie died 1885 and their mother Margaret married Alexander Rae in 1890.  I have traced Margaret and Alexander in the 1901 census but not living at Mossend Farm House, Fettercairn.

I think the farm they lived at in 1890/1901 may have gone out of their hands and the four brothers moved to other areas.

Their brother George Sherret moved to Glasgow.  Their sisters Jane Ann and Maggie moved to Arbroath.

Hope someone can help me get a start?

Many thanks

The names of their children all sound familiar with the family tree, this now lets me find another branch of the family.

I just need to find where James and David moved to.

Many thanks for this.

Again, thank you for this.

I will try and find the marriage certificate for William R Christie and Elizabeth.

Charles, James and David all have Fettercairn on their birth certificates, is this different to Fetteresso?

There are 2 marriages in Kincardineshire between a William Christie and an Elizabeth.

1882 Marykirk
1884 Fettercairn

Fettercairn and Fetteresso are different parishes.
