Is there anyone going to the Records office who could look up a Death/Burial for me please.
It's for a George Thomas Stringer,Sept 1903, he would have been 73.  Hope someone can help, from Maureen.

Maureen,

I had a couple of spare credits for the 1837 site left after my research, so I had a look for your George Thomas Stringer.

No luck I'm afraid.  I checked both the June and the Sept Q for 1903.  Only George Thomas Stringer was aged 61 and died W. Derby.

So, can only help by telling you when he didn't die, not when he did, I'm afraid.

Regards

KA

Hello Ka,

thanks for your lookup of George Stringer.  I realized after I had posted my query that I had put the wrong age for him, he would have been in his early sixties so it could be the one I am looking for

Hope it helps a bit.

S'cuse me for butting in here, but what is the credits bit about?
I am about to request a Marriage cert;for my parents,to see if my maternal G'Parents are fully identified on it.Full names and homes etc;as that seems the only way left to obtain them.
I know there are ways to pay from o'seas, credits I have seen mentioned before but never thought about.
Would be grateful for enlightenment.
            Thank you.Goggy.

Goggy,

The 1837 website is a pay-to-view service of the PRO registers.  £5 gets you 55 credits.  It takes one credit to view one page of the PRO records.  Therefore, if you want to search one year, you may need to look at four pages (for the four quarters) to find the entry you want.  It only gives the details enabling you to order the cert, not what is on the cert.

Quite helpful for finding those entries not transcribed on BMD yet.  But you still need to order the certificate itself.

Hope that helps.

I've still got 15 credits left for 1837 site. I'm not going to use them so if someone needs a look up I'll attempt to do so with the remaining credits.
Looking for Hugh Marr and Mary Drummond.
