It's so easy to assume things on the net - I assumed that you were in Cornwall because you were researching and on a Cornwall Board - how further away could you be?!

Thanks for all your tips.  You obviously enjoy and know what you're doing.  I've tried that Edwin Blake, nothing on the original, unfortunately - but I may go to the churchyard to have a look - the last time I went to one part of the inscription was illegible.  But it's worth a go.  I'll definitely go to Cornwall and North Devon next year to further enquiries.

I'll also hope that Andy eventually gets in touch.
