Hi
Most of the names you gave are not listed in the baps. Those that are , are mainly pre the dates you want. Sorry.
I missed the year on the last bap I gave. It was 30 April 1805
Could have been out of county -- Gainsboro very near border of foreign country!!!

Beady

Well reasoned by the way
I have just recieved a scan from polly with
William Gurnhill marriage as Blyton
But it says the county of Nottingham

The marriage was at Knaith and it states that he was from BLYTH, Nottinghamshire - that's not necessarily where he was born, is it?  It's not far from here - we are near a couple of county borders.

By the way, I noticed that none of the marriage entries on the scan I sent you had 'consent of parents' crossed out, so they may well have been over twenty one years.  And if the person who wrote the entry can leave out the actual date he wasn't very efficient, was he?

Hi Polly

Misread it sorry thought it said Blyton
No, you are right the clerk's did not seem to be very meticulous at all.
Intereting though the Notts connection
My Gurnhill crowd have always been from Lincolnshire
But in the past on GU I have come across some very similar names and dates
But. When I have contacted the person involved they tell me they have no Gurnhill's from Lincs
Only Notts tended to around the retford area most though

Eric

My 4th great grandfather was Richard Gurnhill born 1825 parents John Gurnhill and Jane Kelsey. I think your William was Richard’s brother…. This is what I have so far for his siblings.
Richard Gurnhill  baptised 8th September 1822 Upton.
William Gurnhill baptised 25th October 1809 Upton.
John Gurnhill ( other brother) born Abt 1811.

I have a tree on ancestry. Not sure how to find your tree but I’ll try and figure it out.

Possible we both have tree matches
Or DNA match if we have tge same Gurnhill line,I had a quick look and to be honest I dont think my William and yours are the same, but I will check properly when i get the chance
